- 1. Warm-up (15 min) Pulse-raiser, joint circles, then 2 very easy routes climbed slowly and smoothly.
- 2. Pyramid — 8-10 routes Climb a pyramid of grades: 2 easy → 2 moderate → 1-2 at 'challenging but likely first try' → back down 2 moderate → 2 easy. Nothing at your limit today — the top of the pyramid should feel like an 8 out of 10, not a fight.
- 3. Rest between routes Rest roughly as long as the climb took (belaying your partner counts). You should start every route recovered — this is mileage, not intervals.
- 4. One focus per route Before pulling on, pick one thing: find one real rest on the route, or clip from a still position every time, or breathe at every bolt. Say it out loud to your belayer — it doubles the follow-through.
- 5. Finish End on an easy route climbed as beautifully as you can. Log which grades you climbed — the pyramid should slowly widen over months.
