Lattice alternative
A Lattice alternative for climbers who are not chasing the 9a's and up
Lattice built its name coaching some of the strongest climbers in the world. RoxClimbs is for the rest of us: one free app that connects your logbook, your training and your goals, and tells you plainly where you stand.
Free. Your data is yours: export or delete anytime.
The short version
Lattice sells coaching: real coaches, assessments, structured plans from £22.99 a month. If you want a human telling you what to do each week, that is what they are for. RoxClimbs is for climbers who coach themselves. It pulls your logbook, training and goals into one free app, reads what you actually did, and tells you what to focus on next.
Your logbook does the talking.
RoxClimbs starts from the climbing you already do. Connect theCrag and your ascents sync automatically, or upload your Mountain Project ticks, attempts included either way. From there the app works on its own: goals tick when you send, projects build from your attempts, and your pyramid, progression and personal bests stay current without you filling in a single form.
Track and plan your training.
Pick workout cards from a library where every card names its source, its full session and its stop rule, or write your own cards and tweak copies of the library ones. Schedule them on the calendar, mark them done, and the weekly review compares what you planned with what you actually did. You always know whether the training happened, not just whether it was planned.
Know where you stand.
Once your logbook holds about 25 climbs, the Performance view opens: what you could likely flash today, a projected redpoint, and five signals showing how your climbing is built, strength, power, endurance, power endurance and technique. The weekly coach review turns that into direction: what moved, how you stand against your goals, and what to focus on next in your training. Bring your own Claude API key and the coach becomes a chat that answers from your own data, so you can go in-depth on recommendations and direction.
Free, and simple.
A year of Lattice plans costs £124.99. RoxClimbs is free. It never invents a number, every analysis waits until your logbook can support it, and your data is exportable and deletable at any time.

Which should you pick?
Pick the tool that fits your climbing.
Pick Lattice if:
you want a human coach and a structured paid plan.
Pick RoxClimbs if:
you coach yourself, you need a direction and suggestions along the way, you want your logbook, training and goals in one place, and you want straight feedback from your own data without a subscription.
Switching is not starting over.
Your climbing history can come with you.
Nothing to migrate from Lattice itself: RoxClimbs starts from your logbook, not from a plan. Connect theCrag and your history syncs in. In the US, upload your Mountain Project ticks. Or bring any spreadsheet. Your first weekly review works from day one data.

FAQ
Questions climbers ask
Is RoxClimbs really free?
Yes, free. No card, no trial clock. If that ever changes, existing users will hear it from us first.
Does RoxClimbs offer coaching plans like Lattice?
No. There is no human coach. You get a workout library with cited sources, a calendar, a weekly review computed from your real climbing and training, and a performance read once your logbook has the evidence.
Can I use RoxClimbs alongside a Lattice plan?
Yes, and it is a good combination: your coach sets the plan, RoxClimbs stays the home of your logbook, projects and goals.
Do I need a wearable?
No. The whole app works from logged climbing. Wearable-based readiness is in beta, and you can apply for access inside the app.
